this little girl is always running. always.

this little girl is finally starting to share her secret language with us, and it is so cute we can barely stand it.

this little girl has a funny little pee wee herman run that she does through the apartment.

this little girl calls piper “pahpah” (or “pawpaw”?). and she corrects us if we call HER anything other than bitty.

this little girl falls out of bed (HARD) every once in a while, and even though it’s so sad it’s also so freaking adorable seeing her all rumpled and sad and happy to see us.

this little girl loves books, coloring, singing and doing anything that her big sister is doing.

this little girl used to be terrified of everything and everyone, but is starting to come out of her shell.

this little girl is turning 3 in a few months, and i would do anything to rewind and do those first years all over again.

and tonight, bitty got her first haircut. i know, 2.5 years is a crazy long time to wait before getting her little hairs trimmed, but those curls were too yummy to chop. however, there is a fine line between sweet mess o’ curls and just plain MESSY, and it was time to clean it up.

i kept staring at her all night, not knowing if i wanted to giggle or cry. she looked so different suddenly, and the whole way home i kept turning and inspecting her little face. bitty, is that really you? and then we got home and she launched into her little pee wee run, and offered me some soup from her kitchen, and ran away when i tried to put on her jammies … and there she was. new hair, same bitty.

this little girl reminds me that life is good.
