sunday, sunday

i always get the sunday blues. always. it started as far back as high school (middle school, even?). it feels like a combination of mild anxiety and a dash of homesickness (which, incidentally, has nothing to do with whether i’m actually away from home. i used to call it the “sleep away camp” feeling – just sort of empty and lonely, even if there are people around).

anyway, i’ve learned that the best way to combat the sunday blues is to ensure there is something fun to look forward to. it can be active (a walk in a fun neighborhood) or lazy (a ‘real housewives’ marathon on bravo) – just needs to be something to take my mind off the fact that the fleeting weekend is over and a new week of busyness is beginning.

today was a perfect sunday. after meeting friends for breakfast at the new(ish) coffee shop in our neighborhood and home for family nap (heaven!), we set off to the alstadt for a wander through the city.

this coming week is a busy one at work, complete with long meetings and team dinners. i’m missing the girls and wen already, but so very grateful for this sweet sunday together.
