it’s happening

omg it’s happening. while generally a glass half full kind of gal, i was beginning to wonder if spring had decided to bypass europe altogether. so imagine my surprise and delight to see these lovely little buds on our way to the coffee shop yesterday. hello, beautiful! if you had been driving down bucher strasse yesterday around 5:30pm you would have seen a 37-year-old asian gal dancing a little jig of delight and bending over to capture endless photos of these little miracles (no small feat considering i’m also battling a raging cold and every move is a personal offense against each muscle in my tired bod).

it’s been a long, long, freaking LONG winter. dark, grey, snowy, cold. and i’ve been hibernating along with the sun … hibernating from the gym, this blog, anything that could be counted as productive (except at work, bien sur, since regardless of how cold and dreary things are, there is a certain amount of productivity expected of me. can you imagine?!). i’ve chosen sleep over my running shoes far too many mornings, and my jeans are now glaring at me with resentment, seeming to say, “get it together, lady, because we can only stretch so far.” 

it’s time to take a cue from those lovely little purple petals, and spring my way into a new season. grab the camera and capture some sweet moments, lace up my running shoes and hit the pavement, dust off the keyboard and tell a few stories. i can’t wait.

in the meantime, just a few images to remind myself that it wasn’t all bad. there were beautiful snowy mornings, many soothing lattes, and 2 girls perpetually bundled in scarves and hats, laughing their way through the cold.
